My interest in photography began when I was fifteen years old. My dad bought me my first DSLR camera. It was in year 12 and 13 of high school that I learnt how to use it and I also learnt how to develop a roll of film. There is something so raw and authentic about film photography and even though I shoot digitally today, film has definitely influenced my style of shooting and processing. I love creating a beautiful image and there is so much satisfaction that comes from producing something technically beautiful but that also sparks a reaction or emotion. I think this is why I can’t decide if I love wedding or fashion photography more. I love witnessing the coming together of family & friends on a wedding day. There really is an aura of love in the air. Fashion photography allows me to test out all the crazy ideas that go through my head and working with the amazing models, hair and make up artists and stylists that the New Zealand industry has to offer is something I really enjoy.
I live in west Auckland, New Zealand but I also love to travel. My ultimate destination would be the Greek Islands. It is my dream to shoot a wedding there one day. When I am not working I am relaxing at home with my fiance Cole and my two dogs Titan & Rocksha. They will forever be three of my favourite people. Dogs are people too right?
My goal in life is to be happy and to be producing images for couples and clients that they love and can hold on to forever. I really can’t imagine having any other career. (Photo of me by Danelle Bohane)
